David Corbet is a musician, arts presenter and rural GP based in Anglesea on Victoria’s Surf Coast. Before studying medicine, he spent more than 15 years as a professional musician and dancer, performing internationally and developing a deep understanding of artists, audiences and creative careers.

He is the founder of The Sound Doctor, a volunteer-run not-for-profit bringing acclaimed Australian and international artists to Anglesea for awesome live shows, while creating opportunities for local and emerging musicians as support acts. The Sound Doctor was named Best Regional Venue (Under 50 Gigs) at the 2024 Music Victoria Awards.

David’s work shows how ambitious cultural programming can thrive in regional communities, and how music, connection and creativity contribute to individual and community wellbeing.
