On the Road to a Better Tour: The Future of Touring in a Climate-Conscious World
On the Road to a Better Tour: The Future of Touring in a Climate-Conscious World
Fresh off their 14-date ‘Love Is Off The Table’ regional tour, which took their high-energy show to towns like Forth, Albury, and Rockhampton, Oliver Leimbach of Lime Cordiale joins Green Music Australia’s Tim Shiel to explore how artists can reduce their touring footprint without losing the connection that comes from performing in regional communities.
Known for their sweaty, intimate gigs in small rooms, Lime Cordiale returned to their roots with the same raw energy that built their loyal following, even after selling out arenas with their 2024 album ‘Enough of the Sweet Talk’. Long-time champions of community-focused, regional touring, the duo is now turning their attention to the environmental cost of being on the road, the focus of their upcoming documentary ‘On the Road to a Better Tour’.
In this conversation with Tim Shiel, who has been leading the recent ‘No Music On A Dead Planet’ campaign – they’ll reflect on what it means to tour more consciously in 2025, how artists can advocate for change within the industry, and why the future of touring must be both climate-aware and community-driven.
