Stu Watters
Stu has spent more than 25 years at the forefront of Australia’s music industry, bringing together extensive experience across industry development, advocacy, government relations, licensing and strategic leadership.
Throughout his career, he has worked with government, industry bodies, artists and organisations to strengthen Australia’s creative sector through practical leadership, trusted relationships and a genuine passion for creating opportunities that deliver lasting impact.
His career includes leadership roles as AIR, QMusic, Nightlife Music, ALMBC, QMF and board roles with 4ZZZ, QMusic, Green Music Australia and The Push.
Most recently, Stu held the roles of GM – Creative, Programming & Production and then GM – Production & Delivery at QMF leading delivery of the Queensland Music Trails program. During this time, QMF received the 2026 Music Cities Award for Best Music Tourism Initiative for Queensland Music Trails: The Outback 2025, marking the organisation’s third consecutive global Music Cities Award.
Stu loves Australian music and the industry and is the Founder and Co-Director of Morph Consulting.
