Laura’s currently the Executive Producer for the Regional & Remote Music Summit, presented by MusicNT. Through her consultancy, Happenstance Projects, Laura collaborates with creative people and organisations to drive positive change through the magic power of music.
Her recent career highlights include managing an indie label for charity the Hush Foundation, programming the music for the Unconformity Festival in the main street of Queenstown, consulting with the music sector on the development of the Mac Point Precinct Plan, and producing the first Tasmanian Songbook Project for the Festival of Voices, celebrating the legacy of Tassie songs.
Prior to becoming an independent agent, Laura was the CEO of Music Tasmania, where she led the advocacy and strategic development of the island’s contemporary music industry, presenting programs to empower and connect local artists with audiences.
Laura holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) and has served as a Director of the Australian Music Industry Network (AMIN), as the Executive Officer of the Tasmanian Creative Industries Council (Creative Tasmania), and a Board Member for the Australian Women in Music Mentorship Program (Australian Independent Records). Additionally, she has contributed as an Industry Advisor and Grant Assessor for Creative Australia, Regional Arts Tasmania, APRA AMCOS, Arts Tasmania, and The City of Hobart.
