Basso is a proud Pitjantjatjara man from Amata, a remote community in the north-western corner of South Australia. A singer-songwriter and member of the award-winning hip-hop collective DEM MOB, Basso uses music as a way to share stories, connect with people, and create positive change. For Basso, music is more than a form of expression. It is a powerful tool for creating opportunities and helping shape a stronger future for the next generation. Through his work, he is passionate about creating sustainable pathways for young people and giving them the confidence to find their voice. Basso believes every young person should have the opportunity to express themselves, be heard, and believe in what they are capable of. His mission is to use music to amplify and validate student voices, inspire creativity, and show young people that they can become whatever they set their minds to. Through his own journey, Basso hopes to inspire others to dream bigger, stay connected to who they are, and recognise the possibilities that exist beyond what they may see around them.
