Adelaide University Alumni Showcase

Adelaide University Alumni Showcase

Join Adelaide University for an evening showcase at Limestone Coast Pantry, featuring three talented acts from its alumni: My Cherie, The Genevieves and DEM MOB. The line-up celebrates the creativity and ambition of artists who have come through the University, while highlighting its local connection to the South East with its Mount Gambier campus in the town. Settle in for live music, good company and a memorable evening.

Open to delegates and free to the general public (subject to capacity).

LIVE MUSIC

DEM MOB
Hailing from the APY Lands in the remote desert of South Australia, DEM MOB are the most remote hip hop band on the planet — and the first hip hop group to rap in Pitjantjatjara.

My Cherie
My Chérie is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer based on Kaurna Land (Adelaide/Tarntanya). Raised in South Africa, she crafts beautifully left-of-centre alt-pop and indie/folk-rock that is sonically immersive, hypnotic, and emotionally resonant, moving between introspective softness and cinematic, electrifying energy.

The Genevieves
The Genevieves are an Adelaide-based alternative rock band. The four piece occupy a sonic liminal space between dense, guitar heavy soundscapes and self-reflective, pop-derived melodies. Formed in 2023 as a solely collaborative project, the absence of a consistent ‘front-person’ illuminates all four creative voices, which manifests in their recorded work and live sets through ever-changing vocal combinations, writing styles, and a sense of unpredictability. Seeking to capitalise off the momentum built with their 2025 debut EP ‘Dog Dreams’ and two successful national tours, The Genevieves–with ever-increasing national attention–are gearing up for a new single release in August.
