SUMMARY:Rock Lock Records Showcase
DESCRIPTION:Curated by Jack Lane\, owner of Rock Lock Records\, this showcase brings together four regional acts for an evening celebrating the energy\, variety and community spirit of the Limestone Coast music scene. Featuring live sets from Alison Newman\, Sexy as Shit\, Stokes and Gernz\, expect a showcase of distinct voices from the region. With dinner available from the brewery\, settle in for drinks and a night of live music\, connection and discovery. \nOpen to delegates and free to the general public (subject to capacity). \nLIVE MUSIC \nAlison Newman\nAlison Newman has been singing and writing songs her whole life. After many years as a cover singer she is excited to be performing her own music in this chapter of her musical life. Her band The Tassels bring to life her stories and provide a gutsy back drop to support her powerful voice. \nGernz\nGernz are a three-piece alt-rock band from regional South Australia\, blending melody-driven songwriting with the grit and energy of punk and grunge. Drawing from the attitude of the ’90s and the energy of early-2000s rock\, the band channels those influences into a sound that feels distinctly modern and unmistakably Australian. \nSexy As Shit\nSexy As Shit (SAS) is a solo indie artist from Berrin/Mount Gambier\, South Australia. Sole member “Cowboy” Collins has no boundaries when creating music\, drawing influences from 2000’s indie sleaze\, 80’s synthpop\, and comedy sitcoms. The end result is “not dance music\, but music you can dance to”. Paired with the bombastic live show\, Sexy As Shit is not only making waves but surfing them too. \n Stokes\nOriginating from the Limestone Coast region in Mount Gambier\, South Australia\, Stokes are a dynamic trio of young lads whose music is a tasty blend of garage\, surf and R&B styles. Stokes self-produced and released their debut single “Bungalow” to the world in September 2021. With reverb flavoured guitars\, tight drum and bass section\, haunting vocals and even a strong percussion breakdown\, the song has become a staple in their live sets. The trio followed this single with their debut self-titled EP “Stokes” released one year later September 2022\, which displays the band’s sonic diversity in the styles of music they perform and love.

SUMMARY:Designing the Future Regional and Remote Music System in Australia
DESCRIPTION:What would a connected\, sustainable regional and remote music system look like by 2035? This panel considers how Australia can move beyond fragmented activity and capital-city centralisation to build a stronger national ecosystem grounded in local knowledge\, self-determination and long-term investment. \nDrawing on the history of regional music systems and the infrastructure that supported them before metropolitan centralisation\, the conversation will explore the role of policy\, funding\, governance and planning in enabling artists to stay\, return\, tour\, lead and build sustainable careers from place. \nIt will also examine how councils\, governments\, peak bodies\, venues\, festivals\, promoters\, industry and communities can work together with greater coordination and less duplication. Together\, the panel will identify the priority shifts needed over the next decade to rebalance cultural power and investment\, recognise regional communities as critical cultural\, social and economic infrastructure\, and connect local action with a genuinely national vision.

SUMMARY:Creative & Cultural Leadership Outside the Capitals
DESCRIPTION:What does it mean to lead creatively in a regional or remote place? This panel brings together artists\, cultural workers and community leaders to explore how creative practice can shape the identity\, confidence and visibility of a place. \nFrom artists and local champions to long-term cultural workers\, the conversation will examine leadership models that are embedded\, relational and responsive to place. Panellists will reflect on balancing artistic ambition with community connection and practical delivery\, while considering the value of experimental\, site-responsive and locally grounded creative work. \nThe discussion will also explore how ecology\, land\, environment and local stories can inform creative leadership across arts\, live music\, civic\, business and community contexts. Together\, panellists will consider what regional leaders need to sustain their work over time\, sharing lessons from people already building strong\, distinctive and connected creative practice outside the capitals.

SUMMARY:How Music Lives in Places
DESCRIPTION:What does music look like in everyday life beyond the stage? This panel explores how music lives within regional and remote communities\, through local identity\, wellbeing\, pride and the informal spaces where people gather\, create and connect. \nFrom house concerts\, community halls\, pubs and backyards to collectives and DIY gatherings\, the conversation will consider how artist-led and community-led activity sustains music where formal infrastructure is limited. Panellists will share examples of grassroots practice\, examining why community aspiration and local benefit must matter as much as industry outcomes. \nThe discussion will ask what changes when communities are listened to before activity is designed\, and how neighbouring towns and regions can share artists\, audiences\, knowledge and resources. Together\, panellists will explore what small communities need to keep music active\, accessible and locally meaningful.

SUMMARY:Staying\, Leaving\, Returning: The Artist Reality
DESCRIPTION:What does it mean to build a sustainable music career from outside a capital city? This panel explores the realities facing artists who stay\, leave\, return or move between regional and metropolitan contexts\, considering how distance\, cost\, isolation and limited access to opportunity shape their careers. \nHear from artists working across different places and pathways as they reflect on community connection as a creative strength\, the role of regional identity in music and storytelling\, and the ways digital presence and online audiences can support a career from place. The discussion will also examine what metropolitan industry can misunderstand about regional artists and the different forms success can take\,  from income and exposure to wellbeing\, cultural continuity\, creative autonomy and community value. \nTogether\, panellists will consider how labels\, agents\, festivals\, venues and funders can better support artists to build sustainable careers without losing connection to the communities and places that shape their work.

SUMMARY:How Do We Build and Sustain Success in Music?
DESCRIPTION:How do we define success in music when the measures that work in metropolitan centres do not always reflect the realities of regional and remote communities? This panel brings together leaders from festivals\, research\, artist management and community practice to explore how different places can define\, build and sustain success on their own terms. \nThe conversation will consider the relationship between economic viability and social\, cultural and community outcomes\, asking how artists\, venues\, festivals and audiences can thrive over time. Panellists will examine artist-defined versus funder-defined success\, the importance of participation and wellbeing\, and the role of audience development in building long-term cultural value. \nMoving beyond one-size-fits-all models\, the panel will explore how to avoid extractive approaches to regional engagement and what success looks like after the showcase\, grant or tour has ended. Together\, they will consider the conditions needed for music communities to remain active\, connected and sustainable.

SUMMARY:Adelaide University Alumni Showcase
DESCRIPTION:Join Adelaide University for an evening showcase at Limestone Coast Pantry\, featuring three talented acts from its alumni: My Cherie\, The Genevieves and DEM MOB. The line-up celebrates the creativity and ambition of artists who have come through the University\, while highlighting its local connection to the South East with its Mount Gambier campus in the town. Settle in for live music\, good company and a memorable evening. \nOpen to delegates and free to the general public (subject to capacity). \nLIVE MUSIC\nDEM MOB\nHailing from the APY Lands in the remote desert of South Australia\, DEM MOB are the most remote hip hop band on the planet — and the first hip hop group to rap in Pitjantjatjara. \nMy Cherie\nMy Chérie is a singer-songwriter\, multi-instrumentalist\, and producer based on Kaurna Land (Adelaide/Tarntanya). Raised in South Africa\, she crafts beautifully left-of-centre alt-pop and indie/folk-rock that is sonically immersive\, hypnotic\, and emotionally resonant\, moving between introspective softness and cinematic\, electrifying energy. \nThe Genevieves\nThe Genevieves are an Adelaide-based alternative rock band. The four piece occupy a sonic liminal space between dense\, guitar heavy soundscapes and self-reflective\, pop-derived melodies. Formed in 2023 as a solely collaborative project\, the absence of a consistent ‘front-person’ illuminates all four creative voices\, which manifests in their recorded work and live sets through ever-changing vocal combinations\, writing styles\, and a sense of unpredictability. Seeking to capitalise off the momentum built with their 2025 debut EP ‘Dog Dreams’ and two successful national tours\, The Genevieves–with ever-increasing national attention–are gearing up for a new single release in August.

SUMMARY:Introducing the Australian Music Touring Network
DESCRIPTION:How can artists and tour managers find the information they need to build more viable touring routes across Australia? This presentation introduces the Australian Music Touring Network\, a free online platform bringing Australia’s original live music venues together in one living\, map-based directory.  \nThe Network provides practical venue information including capacity\, technical specifications\, accessibility\, booking contacts\, preferred genres\, performance schedules and local knowledge. The session will explore how a shared national map can help artists\, managers\, venues and touring partners identify opportunities\, plan smarter routes and strengthen connections between metropolitan\, regional and remote communities. By providing equity of access to information\, helping to connect the right artist to the right venue\, the Australian Music Touring Network strengthens the connections that underpin successful touring and supports a more visible\, accessible and sustainable live music sector. \nAn evolution of MusicNSW’s Regional Touring Network\, the Australian Music Touring Network offers a new way to understand and support Australia’s venue infrastructure that makes live music touring possible.

SUMMARY:Carclew x Wildlive Showcase
DESCRIPTION:Curated by Carclew with a focus on emerging artists\, this lunchtime showcase brings together Cheleigh\, Bousta and Live Slug Reaction for a celebration of emerging artists and live performance. With off-grid stage production by Wildlive\, the session will demonstrate how solar-powered\, low-impact audio\, lighting and staging can support high-quality live music beyond traditional infrastructure. Expect three distinctive sets\, fresh sounds and a glimpse of how the next generation can help shape a more sustainable live music future. \nLIVE MUSIC \nCheleigh\nCheleigh is a 22-year-old indie pop daydreamer living on Kaurna Country creating music that sits the listener in the palm of her hand and then holds them close to her heart; and she might just be your next favourite oversharer. \nBousta\nIntroducing BOUSTA\, a proud Arrernte man from Mparntwe/Alice Springs\, currently living and studying in Adelaide. BOUSTA is a Hip Hop artist who writes thought-provoking lyrics in English and Arrernte\, using his traditional language as a powerful tool to inspire Indigenous kids to chase their dreams.\nDrawing from his experiences growing up in Central Australia and his life in Adelaide\, BOUSTA brings his own perspective and identity to Hip Hop\, blending storytelling\, culture and contemporary sounds.\n \nLive Slug Reaction\nLive Slug Reaction is an Adelaide-based groove band that takes influence from anything they can get their greedy slime trails on\, ripping sounds and grooves from Electronic\, Jazz-Funk and Rock\, to create moody soundscapes and danceable tracks that leave no head unbobbed and no mossy textural stone unturned. The five slugs have played with acclaimed Australian acts across genres\, including Alexander Flood\, Majak Door\, The Empty Threats and Any Young Mechanic and their music is recommended for anyone who likes having fun.
